I actually have seen the short Dinner for One before thanks to my aunt that lives in Germany and she does love it exactly like how the article says the Germans do. I think it is cute and good for a slight giggle but overall I think it is silly. I think it would have been more funny is she was like really old and senile and the butler had to actually convince her that he was the dinner guests in order to keep her happy on her birthday and not have to tell her they are all dead and she is old as dirt.
I think it is crazy that German stores have such strict store laws and that they enforce Sunday laws. I mean that just would not fly here because I mean as it is not everyone is the same religion and even if they are religious not everyone goes to church on Sundays. It just baffled me that the latest some German stores stay open is 8 pm and we have Wal-Mart’s and other stores that are open 24/7.
Finally, I think my dad would find German Father's day a bit more fun than the traditional US one. I really liked the bit about the competition about the man that had the most offspring was the winner back in the day, it is kind of like saying “hey congratulations your balls work here have a ham”.
