AMD 5 Katie Guilmette

For AMD 5, I researched the top 10 tourist attractions in Germany. Number 10 is the Rügen Cliffs, located on Rügen island. The most majestic area is called königsstuhl, or the King's chair. The Ninth attraction is the "Romantic Rhine" meaning the Rhine River. It flows through numerous cities in Germany and surrounds castles, hills, and villages - the perfect setting for a romantic getaway. The Frauenkirche is #8 on the top 10 attraction list. Located in Dresden, The Church of Our Lady is recently reconstructed after being raided in WW11. #7 is Lindau, could be considered the connecting point between German, Austrian, and Swiss borders, and is filled with medieval buildings and monuments. Sixth is Oktoberfest - only the biggest beer drinking festival in the world with 6 million visitors annually. As a part of the Bavarian culture, it is one of the more popular tourist attractions in Germany. #5 is Cologne Cathedral, which may be considered one of the greatest gothic cathedrals in Germany. I'm not surprised it is #5, since many churches are hot tourist spots. Fourth is Holstentor, which is one of the two gated cities left in Germany. It leads to the old cities in Lübeck. And now for the top 3 attractions! In third place is the Heidelberg Old City, one of few that were spared its original charm during WW11. Second place is the Brandenburg Gate, which symbolizes the reuniting of East and West Berlin. And finally (drum roll please...), the top tourist attraction in Germany is...Neuschwanstein in Bavaria. It is considered a "fairytale castle," which nicely correlates with Kapitel 10.
