The draft thing is weird. I mean, I assume it comes from old wives tales about catching a cold or what not, but it's still pretty silly. I am always hot (even in the dead of winter I only sleep w a sheet) so I simply could not abide by this fact of German life.
The health thing also seems odd to me; are they just a nation of hypochondriacs? This actually hints more than that to me, to be honest, it stinks of an unspoken social agreement. We have one here in America too: things getting lost in the mail. NOTHING gets lost in the mail anymore, but we as a people have accepted it as tacit agreement between ourselves as we all forget to mail things or whatnot. This seems much like the same thing to me.
The article about saunas surprises me not one bit. Sauna's are awesome. I've been in a few... kinda. I'll leave that there.
As for the final article on older undergraduate, I find very uplifting. Being an older undergraduate myself (I'm 28 and a Junior) I get the need to got and experience life before one sits down to finally study. It is exactly what I did. Moved around, worked, got my effing up out of my system and now I can give my education the attention it deserves.
