Draftophobia
Is the weirdest thing I have read. The is no logic to it whatsoever, but it goes to show you that even small quirks can manifest themselves in very strange ways even in such a large population. It's quite funny.
You have what?
It sounds like Germany is its own world. I am not a medicine educated person, but this has me wondering what makes these people so special or should I say unfortunate. I have no idea what to think of this, but my skeptic alarm is going off like crazy. Are they apart of some superhuman gene?
Sauna
I have loved sauna's ever since I can remember. The unfortunate thing is that I have not been able to find one that is public or even around in about two years. I miss it so much you have no idea. Germanys outlook on sauna's are promising, and they mention the finnish are even more so. It sounds like I need to travel to one of these places for the sole reason of just sauna-ing.
Philologues
I had an acquaintance from Switzerland whom spoke of this. He said he either had to pay a MASSIVE fine, or he had to do 1 or 2 years of civil army training. This all had to be done before he could go to college. It makes me wonder if more countries in Europe tend to do that. I am a bit curious why someone would want to stay in college for that long. Education from a higher institution is a complete nightmare for me, and its the world outside of the university I tend to prefer. I guess school would be easier knowing a job and all that other fun stuff can be more part time, but still. Undergraduate degrees are 90% or more "foam". It sounds like drag.
University course
Group projects are one of my biggest hated things in school. Talk about all the workload on one person, while the amount of time spent is more than anyone wants to put out. Yeah, German schools sound like nightmare. No offense.
university system
Again, everything is a competition. If I lived in germany, I would have gone to a trade school or just not have gone to school. It feels like they have no real idea how they want to structure something that is already sort of structured. I all for changing something, but as it says, they are changing the way its run as it's being ran.
Finances.
My friend Laura in Montreal pays as much or less for college as kids in Community College pay. For them its an inconvenience since it used to be free, but to Americans it seems surreal. I wish schools in the US were like that. Theres pros and cons to everything. I dont want to ramble about my beliefs on here. Interesting.
School System
I really like how the kids have to choose or get chosen for them the route to take early on. I knew what I wanted to be when I was fifteen, so it works out, but for majority of people this idea is probably a nightmare. I could only imagine what it would be like for someone in high school to move to germany. There are so many different levels to schooling and so many assessments one has to take. Oh man.
