AMD3

I enjoy reading fiction books. For this assignment, I decided to look up best sellers in America compared to the best selling books in Germany.

I used this article for the German books: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/mar/14/new-europe-germany-in-lists
and this one for the American books: http://books.usatoday.com/list/index

The German article is somewhat outdated, but I wouldn't think the culture has changed much. Here is what it lists as German's number one book (as of March 2011):
Jesus von Nazareth: Band II: Vom Einzug in Jerusalem bis zur Auferstehung (Jesus of Nazareth – Holy Week: From the Entrance into Jerusalem to the Resurrection) by Joseph Ratzinger (aka Pope Benedict XVI.) The second volume of the Pope's planned trilogy on the life of Christ enters the bestseller charts at No 1, just as its predecessor did in 2007.

The American best seller list states Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks as number one. This is about
a Newcomer to small town dealing with new love and dark past.

Die Deutsch Bücher sind meist auf Geschichte. Die amerikanische Bücher sind meist Fiktion. Ich denke, dass dies eine Menge über beide Kulturen sagt. Amerikaner sind weniger interessiert an Geschichte.
