AMD 2 -- Lars Lopatka

For this AMD assignment, habe ich vier Musikvideo gesehen. Sie sind "Alles nur in meinem Kopf" (Andreas Bourani), "Jetzt im Sommer"(The Wise Guys), "Vielleicht" (Madsen), und "Du bist die Sonne" (Die Drogen). Ich möchte Deutsch Musik hören, denn es hilft mir Deutsch zu lernen. Ich finde dass es sehr interessant ist. Not only does it keep me entertained but it also allows me to get a good dose of Deutsch Kultur while ich lerne Deutsch Grammatik und Wortschatz. Ich empfehle diese Aktivität. The first time I watched each video I tried to pick up as much of the language as I could on my own. Then I would pull up a English-Deutsch side by side translation and read along as I played the video a second time.

My favorite video was "Alles nur in meinem Kopf"-Andreas Bourani. Es war prima, denn ich habe allen Wörtern verstanden. The lyrics were quite simple. Throughout this song, Bourani sings of the power of imagination and fantasy. Zum Beispiel,

"Ich stopp die Zeit" (I stop time)
"Kann in Sekunden Fliegen lernen" (I can learn to fly in seconds)
"Und weiß wie's sein kann, nie zu sterben." (And I can know what it is like to never die)

Auch mag ich "Vielleicht" by Madsen. This song is about uncertainty. Ich habe viele Wörtern verstanden. I think these lyrics are a good example of this theme of uncertainty.

Durch welche Tür soll ich jetzt gehn (Through which door should I now go?)
Oder bleib ich zwischen ihnen stehn (Or should I stay standing in between them?) 

Vielleicht ist das der Anfang (Maybe it is the beginning)

Vielleicht ist das das Ende (Maybe it is the end)

Madsen ist mein Lieblings-Deutsch Band. Ich mag Rock n' Roll. 

I remember doing the same activity, with different songs, in German 101. I enjoyed it but I definitely wasn't able to understand as much. It's a pretty good way to see if one's Deutsch has progressed. Also, I enjoyed this activity because it is great review.
