Dear lovely friends,
This AMD idea came by mistake. I was looking for a stream online for the oscars since I do not have cable. The only stream I found was on CTV, a canadian channel, but for some reason that wasn't working. I decided to search on Google.de in Deutsch, and what do you know! I found a stream on the Oscars. What is really interesting is that all the commercials are in German, as well as the nomination videos. The Oscars themselves are in english. I am pretty hyped that I was able to navigate google.
Here is the link, but I doubt it will work after the oscars: http://kinofilm2020.ucoz.com/index/stream/0-9
The commercials are what I will comment on.
They are very much like the commercials in America, but there isn't as many dealing with medicine, or suing people. I find it interesting that they change the name of the movie "Amour" to "Liebe"even though "Amour was made in Austria. I know it means the same thing, but it just seems odd since there may be a film in Germany named "Liebe". I don't know. It just seems odd.
There was a lot of perfum commercials, with these models. That seemed very normal. Silver Lining Playbook was dubbed and sounded like the same man did the voices for all the guys in the movie. There is a "Germany's next time model". Why is it not "Deutschland's next top model?"
On a side note, below the stream was a Deutsch live chat. I noticed a lot of short hand as in "hab" or Jo! for Yo? "Ich würde soo gern in L.A sein!" which I believe means something like "I would be happy in L.A?"
What does "naja" transfer as?
Some dude was from the U.S and was trying to talk to this german guy. The german guy complimented him on how well he was writing his german, but was pointing out some mistakes in vocabulary that usually isnt used, or atleast thats what I got from the whole thing.
Overall, very good use of time.
