As always, interesting articles. I really liked the one describing the jokes made by the north against the south though. The mistrust is understandable though, the type of culture and language between the regions is very different. The comment about the Berlin wall splitting up the North and South though was a really stupid comment. It would not still be standing, you are an idiot. It would have come down at the same time.
The Ostalgie is a clever combination of Ost and nostalgia. The only comparison that Americans have to this phenomena is the South "remembering" the times when they were succeeded. Flying the Confederate flag is really all they can do. That and elect people.
I really liked the timeline of events because I know about really famous events, but the more minor ones are also interesting. The naked portion of the movie, the ban on oil, and the clashing over the nuclear power plant.
