After reading these articles, it seems that Germans have no sense of decency. I could not tell whether the last author was referring to Germans as vampires for hating the smell of garlic, but they say to eat some and breathe heavily while waiting in line. Also the natives seem to think that lines are meant for any other country that is not there own, from the cheap super markets to the not as cheap supermarkets, lines are purely a mathematical phenomena. The old ladies will try to cut in front of you, but the middle age men can be just as bad. If you decide to try to save money by going to the cheap supermarket, prepare for a shocking experience. Poor service mixed with cranky workers and moldy food would cause a hissy fit in the USA, but over there this is a natural view from inside the store.
Also if you are driving for the first time in Germany, don't. You will die, die, get fined, keyed, shouted at , fined again, and then repeat the next day. Signs don't tell you what not to do in Germany, they tell you what you can do. Also don't cross the street on a red light as a pedestrian.
